How to coach a rep before they leave the store
A practical guide to catching missing proof, display gaps, and next steps while the rep can still fix them.
Tempo Team
The best coaching moment is still in store
Most field issues are cheap to fix while the rep is still with the account and expensive to fix later. A missing shelf angle, unclear price photo, or skipped promo check becomes a Monday problem if nobody catches it in the moment.
Tempo should turn those checks into short prompts the rep can act on before checkout.
Prompt the next action, not the policy
The rep does not need a long explanation. They need the next useful move.
- Take one wider shelf photo
- Confirm the promo bay is active
- Add the manager's comment
- Check the competitor price
- Mark the display as blocked
Close the loop
Good coaching creates cleaner evidence and a better next visit. When the rep fixes the gap, Tempo can mark the issue as resolved and include the fix in the morning report.
That is the difference between field monitoring and field operations.
